About MiDiabeteCooking
My name is Mickaël.
MiDiabeteCooking was born out of my own journey with type 2 diabetes.
After the diagnosis, I quickly felt the need to find a new balance in the kitchen, without giving up the pleasure of eating or turning my meals into a constant chore.
This website reflects that journey: everyday cooking that is adapted, accessible, and designed to last.
Why this website exists
Living with type 2 diabetes changes your relationship with food.
There are numerous recommendations, some of which are contradictory, and they can quickly become a source of fatigue or discouragement.
MiDiabeteCooking was not created to offer a perfect model, but to share a more relaxed approach to cooking: simple, tailored recipes, tested at home, that can really be incorporated into everyday life.
My approach
I usually start with traditional or everyday recipes, then explore how to adapt them to fit a low glycemic index diet that is low in sugar and more balanced.
I have no medical training or degree in nutrition.
My approach is based on my personal experience, my passion for cooking, my background as a food blogger with Cooking and Cakes, and my CAP Cuisine certification.
Every recipe and every piece of content offered here is designed with one simple idea in mind: eat better without losing taste or the pleasure of cooking.
